Associate Director* Legal (IT and Digitalization)

The Associate Director* Legal (IT and Digitalization) will be a key member of the global legal IT and Digitalization team (being a part of the BioNTech legal department) and will generally be expected to support the BioNTech legal team and other business stakeholders across the company worldwide. This attorney will support the entire SaaS, IaaS, Cloud and platform computing of the company both in research and development and commercialization. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing department and have a meaningful impact within a fast-paced and highly innovative organization.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Advise on digital commerce issues, support in successfully designing, setting up and implementing digital business models, and assist with regard to IT compliance and IT security
Act as a strong business partner in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various types of IT contracts related to development, sourcing and commercialization of digital solutions.
Assess and manage legal risks of IT projects with a view to intellectual property rights and their regulatory environment.
Assist in maintaining commercial and corporate policies and procedures and ensure their consistent application throughout the business
Continuously improve standard form agreements and legal processes.

What you have to offer:

Graduate and qualified lawyer (2. State Exam, admitted to the bar association) with 5 years professional experience gained at a law firm or in a corporate legal department
In-depth knowledge in relevant IT and digitalization law, including cloud-computing, IoT, opensource, artificial intelligence, IT-procurement and -developments, and IT-related regulatory requirements resulting from a life-sciences and/or biotechnology context.
Strong verbal and written communication skills together with a high ability to influence and negotiate added with fluency in English and the ability to read and speak in German is a requirement
Result-oriented way of working as well as the ability to analyze complex legal issues and problem-solving skills
Supportive enabler and interpersonal team player, talented at collaborating cross-functionally in a multinational environment.
