We are looking for an experienced and motivated Data Science Manager – Consumer Data Products, Food Science Domain (all genders) to help us deliver an amazing food experience in more than 70 countries and 25 languages. We are a global Tribe of Data Scientists, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Managers delivering innovations across our 13 brands. Our focus is on problems that span across all our brands and scale globally.
The Food Science domain delivers a global food knowledge that powers important parts of the customer experience, and strongly impacts our ability to understand our customers’ tastes and identify similarities between dishes, restaurants, and cuisines.
On a daily basis we use state-of-the-art ML models to build products that range from global dish taxonomy and ontology for dishes, to using generative AI for menu completion and data augmentation for the vendors, exploiting state-of-art NLP and Computer Vision models. However our job doesn’t stop there, we are also responsible for serving our content to multiple stakeholders internally and globally via APIs and data pipelines.

Your mission:
Lead and manage a team of data scientists and engineers working on NLP, Computer Vision, and Generative AI projects.
Drive the development and implementation of state-of-the-art machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team, ensuring the application of best practices and innovative approaches.
Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to define project goals, requirements, and deliverables.
Oversee data consolidation, preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training/validation to ensure high-quality results.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in NLP, Computer Vision, and Generative AI, and identify opportunities for their application in our projects.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing, mentorship, and professional growth.
Your heroic skills:
Experience and background in Computer Science or a related field, preferably in NLP, Computer Vision, and Deep Neural Networks in general
Capable of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and ideally have a successful track record of managing Data Science teams
Empathetic candid leader, experienced in mentoring, coaching and growing people
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Proficiency in Python, it’s ML frameworks, SQL and Cloud services (GCP or AWS)
Great communication skills and ability to influence beyond the team
Nice to have:
Publication record or contribution to the data science community is a plus
Experience with Generative AI models such as GANs, VAEs, or Transformer models
