At Aleph Alpha, we are shaping Europe’s AI landscape – and over the next months, we are significantly growing our team. As we navigate this period of growth, we recognize the need for a Head of Finance and Controlling (m/w/d) who will be responsible for all daily financial operations, such as budgeting, forecasting, internal and external financial reporting. You will be also looking after a small team of 2. This position reports to the VP of Legal & Finance.
Your responsibilities
- Direct, manage and coordinate finance and tax service providers to create financial reports and year-end accounts that meet internal and external needs
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and analysis as well as financial statements,subsidiary schedules and year end audits
- Month-end close activities, B/S and P/L reconciliation, accruals and provisions
- Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Develop and implement a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting system
- Interface with other business units and provide analytical support with operational controlling reports and analysis
- Operational controlling, in particular continuous analysis of gross margin cost items, capex spending, and monitoring budget deviations
- Maintain relationships with banks
- Ensure overall data quality and consistency across all departments
- Leading a small team
Your profile
- Bachelor in Accounting/Controlling or equivalent required. Masters degree or MBA in Finance highly desirable
- A minimum of 5+ years experience in Controlling (Cost Accounting and Financial Analysis, Business Controlling)
- Solid general Accounting knowledge
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, time management, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
- Mastery of Excel and BI tools, and proven experience with accounting/ERP/CRM systems
- Fluent in German and English
