We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in developing methods on computational geometry generation in the context of Generative Design.

What awaits you?

• Support scientific research on state-of-the-art methods on computational geometry generation.
• Collaborate with researchers by proposing innovative solutions with focus on discrete differential geometry, numerical continuation, geometrical constraints modeling, mesh deformation, optimization algorithm.
• Working in a modern software development environment to validate and integrate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) code.

What should you bring along?

• Student or Graduate in: Master of Science in Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical field.
• Excellent knowledge of Discrete Differential Geometry, Applied and Industrial Mathematics and Geometry, Tensor Calculus, CAD.
• Desired knowledge of Continuum Mechanics, FEA, and Optimization theory.
• Experience working with CAD software, such as Rhino Grasshopper, Solidworks, CATIA.
• Programming skills in Python and C#.
• Desired experience coding in Matlab and C++.
• Strongly desired experience in: Generative Design, working with open-source FEA codes, CAD software development or Grasshopper Plugins development.
