Job Beschreibung: About the Role

As a Research Professor in Artificial Intelligence, you report to the President and will work closely with the Software Engineering team to guide students, develop the software engineering curriculum, and contribute to strategic development of the department and overall institution. Your main responsibility is to do research and contribute to the learning experience of students. The precise artificial intelligence topics of interest and relevance to students at CODE will change over time, and overseeing this curriculum development is a part of the role. Current topics of Artificial Intelligence taught at CODE include Planning, Optimization, Reasoning and Machine Learning..

This position is available for an immediate start and will be located at the CODE campus in Berlin, Germany. The salary corresponds to the standards of the university.

About You

Teaching experience in higher education in the field of Artificial Intelligence and other topics in Software Engineering

Experience working with interdisciplinary and intercultural teams

The ability to be flexible and adjust in an environment of change

A university degree, a doctorate or Ph.D., and pedagogical experience

You fulfill the requirements about work experience outside the university as stated in Berliner Hochschulgesetz §100

German language skills are desirable to support with academic translations and university partners

You have a high proficiency in English so you can easily communicate with our international community

You have a solid understanding and practical experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence (Optimization, Planning, Reasoning and Machine Learning), so that you can teach, assess, and provide office hour support to students

You have general knowledge and practical experience with Software Engineering so that you can support students in their project work

You have great communication skills so that you can provide an engaging and welcoming learning environment particularly for students in their first year

You have the ability to be flexible so that you can adjust in an environment of change

You have experience writing research grants so that you can attract third party funding
