The applicant should represent the field of super-resolution with a focus on image analysis in research and teaching and complement the existing research areas. Possible research areas in the field of the professorship are:

- Inverse problems

- Machine Learning for Microscopy
- Machine Learning for Telescopy
- Geometric Deep Learning
- Machine Learning for Photogrammetry
- Restoration
As the professorship is filled as part of a new Interdisciplinary Super-Resolution Research Centre and the Chair of Computer Vision, future collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine or the Faculty of Biology is expected. An initial goal of the interdisciplinary research is the application of super-resolution to microscopic problems.
The teaching duties include offers for the modularised degree programmes of the University of Würzburg at the Institute of Computer Science, the Faculty of Biology and the Faculty of Medicine.
The University of Würzburg attaches great importance to intensive supervision of students and doctoral candidates and expects corresponding commitment from the teaching staff. The professorship is part of the . The future post holder is expected to be strongly involved in collaborations with other members of the Center, especially in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science, but also with other application areas of the Center.

Skills/Qualifications
Requirements for appointment are a relevant university degree, pedagogical aptitude, special aptitude for scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate, as well as additional scientific achievements as detailed in Art. 57 para. 1 sentences 3 and 4 BayHIG. The additional academic achievements should have been made in the field of super-resolution or in related fields.
