Position available in Luxembourg, Berlin, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona and Milan.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager. In this exciting role, you will work closely with our Senior Compliance Officer on the management of the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). You will drive the development and implementation of operational compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will also lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of key operational risk indicators, areas of improvements, and recommend appropriate action. You will partner with numerous Amazon teams, including Legal, Public Policy, and more than 15 business, product, and policy teams.. You must therefore have a thorough understanding of EU regulatory frameworks and a proven track record in creating and implementing operational frameworks, and managing metrics to monitor compliance against requirements. You also must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key job responsibilities

1. Develop and implement operational compliance oversight frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure adherence to the DSA and potentially other EU product-related compliance regulations.

2. Keep abreast of changes in laws to ensure compliance with current requirements.

3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to assess risks and/or non-conformity issues and establish mitigation strategies.

4. Support with external audits, reporting and data access requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and addressing any findings or recommendations.

5. Support the Senior Compliance Officer with the external engagement of regulatory partners.

6. Act as a key point of contact to support the business in operating within compliance.

About the team

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in Legal, Public Policy, Product Safety, Product Compliance, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, Technical Project/Program Management and/or Auditing or related field.
  • Experience in project management with culturally diverse teams
  • Strong ability to use Excel, Word and other common desktop software applications and must also be comfortable learning web applications and proprietary software.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively both cross-functionally and vertically within an organization.
  • Ambitious self-starter who can work objectively with integrity and high degree of legal awareness
  • Business proficiency in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Effective verbal communication, confident presentation style and excellent document preparation skills.
  • Ability to think critically about risk management and coordinate across a multitude of business teams.
  • Resilient and able to thrive and lead in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • MBA or Graduate Degree in Engineering, Law and/or 5+ years of experience in Product Development and Safety, Operations, Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and/or Auditing
  • Experience in consumer product regulatory compliance and/or E-commerce.
  • Experience in project management with culturally diverse teams
  • Experience with senior level communication, including concise verbal and written, and track record of influencing senior leaders.
  • Direct working experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence and keyword based algorithms
  • Track record in advocacy and managing change in complex organisations
  • English with at least one other European language
