We are seeking an accomplished Staff Software Engineer with a background in e-commerce, gaming, or other high-throughput industries to join our growing Consumer Data Products (codapro) organization.
In codapro, we deliver global services for our 70+ countries at scale: Customer Data Platform (a low latency, live customer attributes, and segmentation engine over streams), several Generative AI services, Fraud prevention services, a large global marketing technology stack, personalization services, and Delivery Hero’s global experimentation platform.
You will be influencing the work of over 130 dedicated technical colleagues in codapro. In this individual contributor role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our technical excellence by leveraging your experience in architecting, building, and operating low-latency, high-throughput APIs. You will be pivotal in driving the overall technical architecture within our team and solving complex problems.
Responsibilities:
Set standards for engineering excellence and act as the technical guide, providing guidance to both product and technical colleagues within the team.
Co-represent the Tribe’s engineering at the highest levels (CTO, CPO, CMO conversations)
Advise the tribe lead on all technical matters and strategies for continuous improvement of the team’s technical excellence.
Design and implement high-quality, architecturally sound services or applications in alignment with business needs.
Review and provide input on architectural proposals, technology choices, and ensure they are scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient.
Initiate and execute software delivery improvements, technical debt reduction, and proactively contribute to improving the team’s technical capabilities.
Implement your vision of incident responses and ensure that technical leaders in the domains execute this vision. Join the tech leadership in building a culture where post-mortems lead to learnings with follow-up actions defined.
Drive technically complex projects to ensure timely delivery and high quality.
Engage in exploring innovative ideas, foreseeing upcoming technical challenges, and turning them into business opportunities.
Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection within the entity/vertical.
Participate in hiring interviews as a bar raiser and contribute to improving the interview process.
Requirements:
Experience in architecting, building, and reliably operating low-latency, high-throughput APIs.
Deep understanding of large-scale software solutions and all aspects of product and software delivery lifecycle.
Experience in e-commerce or similar industries.
History of delivering high-impact services, applications, frameworks, or other technologies within a group or as open source.
Ability to communicate effectively at varying levels of abstraction.
Capability to drive innovation and explore uncharted territories proactively.
Commitment to fostering knowledge sharing, evangelizing best practices, and cultivating a blameless culture focused on learning and continuous improvement.
Willingness to participate in external tech community activities such as blogging, meetups, conferences, and open-source contributions.
